Vibrations
Wheel VibrationsIf your steering wheel vibrates when driving there are a number of possible problems (try checking these in order):BrakesAnything from a warped rotor to a frozen caliper or air in the brake lines can cause this problem. Does the vibration go away after some driving until you hit the brakes? Does the car pull to a side when you apply the brakes?Wheel BearingsJack the car up and try to wiggle the wheels side to side. Do they move? First try retightening the hub nut. If that doesn't work, try replacing the bearings.Ball JointsThe problem may be ball joints. Check the ball joints for rips in the rubber boots. If a boot is ripped, you should replace the whole ball joint.BushingsAdditionally the bushings on the sway bars may be worn. You can visually examine the end links to see their status.Tires or wheels are not balancedDoes the vibration only happen at certain speeds (usually a "window" of 10-15MPH.) Try getting your tires re-balanced | ||||
