Custom Lotus parts, guides and facts for the Lotus Turbo Esprit. 2.2 Liter Lotus engine with turbo. Guides for tires, wheels, engine, transmission as well as custom carbon fiber, aluminum and fiberglass parts for the Lotus Turbo Esprit. As well as an adjustable suspension for the front of the car.

Facts for both the US and UK Lotus Turbo Esprit, including spring rates, engine info, parts, modifications, specifications (specs), pictures, users, owners and vital information for the Lotus.

Some information might be valid for non turbo cars and other Esprits as well, some custom parts may be usable on non turbo version of the car and other parts may work on the later Esprits. And suspension adjustment and springs, coilovers coil overs and other stuff.

Turbo Esprits have the 2.2 liter lotus engine and 210 horsepower, we have custom fiberglass, aluminum and carbon fiber parts being developed along with a multitude of facts on the lotus cars.

We will have replacement OEM parts as well as custom unique parts for the esprits made from fiberglass, carbon fiber and aluminum.

We are interested in hearing from other lotus owners including S1 owners, S2 esprit owners and S3 n/a lotuses. We have a variety of owners.

Update (Sept 02, 2004) :

After some investigation, we've discovered the cost of the upper handles and the door handles will be cost prohibitive (think about $1400 for a set of upper handles, door handles and locks.) That is if 5 people are interested in the parts, if we can get 15 people interested the costs will be reduced greatly, but still be $700 or so.

The plan is now for replacement of the upper handle upholstery with CF veneer and formed backside. A part is being prepared ATM for testing the look and finish.

As for other parts, the summer schedule has put things a bit behind. We have all the CAD work and quotes in, so we will be planning on making a trial production run next month (October). What we do and don't order will be dependent on how much interest we get in the parts. Currently this is what is slated to be done:

  • Shifter knob with black or green and yellow lotus logo emblem in top (soon)
  • Shifter boot surround top and bottom (soon)
  • Speaker adaptor rings, threaded (pair)(later)
  • Heater A/C knobs (later)

In order to get the pricing sane, we have had to order a minimum of 50 of each. Approximate price will be about $90 for the shifter knob, $75 for the boot surround and $75 for the pair of speaker adaptor rings. This may change slightly also it won't include shipping (which shouldn't be more than a few bucks.)

As for the likelihood of CNC interior door locks/handles, the possibility is once again precluded by the cost of producing small quantities. Instead we will be machining off the "embroidered" look and fitting either a CF or alloy insert instead.

    Most likely with 6-8 hidden countersunk holes to be attached to a backing plate from the underside. No visible attachements from above
  • Complete replacement switches (Will have samples ordered in a few weeks.)
    (These are not milled pieces, but custom built aftermarket switches for hazard, headlights ,windows and mirror trim that(almost)fit the stock location.(as it turns out our lotus switches are not industry standard size)
